The Dynam P-47 is an another exciting and fantastic war bird Dynam has added to their line of models. The Dynam P47 is a perfect mix of power and stablity. Plenty of power for the pro with the stability of a true war bird. Like with all the Dynam airplanes, the detail is outstanding and is way customers keep coming back to Dynam when they increase their fleet. Dynam did not miss much when it comes to scale by adding a removable drop tank, machine guns, and they even included the popular electronic retracts. Super personnel at Grayson-Dynam - considerate and helpful. Review by Davnkatz
Rating
This is a continuation of my original rating. Months later and still have not finished the P-47 Hun Hunter. The various parts LOOK good, but main problem is MY inexperience with electrics and foam construction. Since getting the plane, I have been doing research to learn about electric RC. I also purchased a cheap T-34 foam model tp "practice" working with that medium (I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO DO THIS), AND I have learned a lot about working with foam. Now, back to my P-47 and my reason for TWO stars. I repeat, the biggest problem is the manual itself. So, here are my negative comments. I just guestimated where decals were to be placed. Yuk! Could not get wings inserted enough to install retainer screws. Practice with my cheap model makes me realize I need to lightly sand to get wings to fit. MUCH LIKE I ONCE DID WITH BALSA. While doing all this, the pilot figure fell free inside the canopy. Rep at Dynam very helpful and considerate in resolving the issue. Once that was corrected, I started hooking up the rudder and elevator connectors. Just moving the rudder caused the "foam hinges" to CRACK. To fix that, I used the left over decal sheets - which thankfully I had saved. Figured that - cut to shape - the make-do plastic hinges would hold as strongly as the decals do. I will find out when it flies.

SUGGESTION: Before construction begins, remove ALL "foam hinges" and replace them the same kind of hinges used on balsa models - OR - reinforce them with the "tape hinge tape" made for that purpose. A huge number of mistakes and frustration could be avoided by adding this kind of info in the manual.

NOW, having said all that, I will continue to trust Grayson-Dynam and purchase their products. (Posted on 1/11/2019)
Nice plane, but some quality issues Review by Sean from AZ

Nice looking plane, but had a few issues. Grayson shipped immediately, no probs with packaging or order processing.
1. Looks good. Pilot is really ginormous for cockpit and scale of plane.
2. One aileron servo and the rudder servo needed re-gluing.
3. One aileron pushrod/clevis was stripped, so it needed gluing.
4. Elevator servo ran backwards when my Spektrum receiver was connected, and rotated opposite of standard Emax servos. Replaced Detrum rudder servo with Emax, all good.
5. This is a V2, which has flaps already assembled and wired. Very nice.
6. I like the wingtip LED's.
7. Gear/retracts aren't as high quality as E-Flite P-47, but still functional.
8. Overall quality slightly less than E-Flite P-47, but price point is lower, too.
9. Instructions were poor. Youtube has a couple of videos to help. (Posted on 6/16/2018)
Great looking plane!! Awful retracts!!!!! Review by DELL

Finally had time to assemble this great looking plane and the assembly was pretty simple. The manual is terrible but there are plenty of build videos on the web. Don't shop there but Jeff with Nitroplanes.com always does very good build videos as do the guys here at Grayson (If they have one available). Dynam has a horrible quality issue with their electric servo-less retracts. Mine worked through one test before flight and then on maiden would not retract. Landed, Thank God the were down and didn't quit in the up position because a P-47 with the long range fuel tank installed does not belly land well at all!! Checked all connections and voltages unplugged them, reseated connectors and re-bound plane to radio. now they work intermittently. Sometimes one, then the other. Only way I can fly is get them in the down position, unplug and fly with them down. Not good for a war bird. Seems like this is a very common problem, yet Dynam has still not corrected it. Not Grayson's fault but Dynam needs to upgrade these things and eliminate this problem. (Posted on 9/5/2017)

Beautiful plane - extremely poor instruction manual. Review by Davnkatz

Outstanding package. Very, very pleased with top-of-the-line shipping. Thought with my years building-flying various kinds of airplanes that this would be a piece-of-cake. BOY!!! Was I ever wrong! This is my first 100% foam AC and a brand new electric experience. Ad says "not for a beginner". Did not consider myself a "beginner". However, with all the construction info NOT in the manual I was made into a beginner. Lots of hit-&-miss and the plane is still not complete. I have spent hours on the internet researching and viewing numerous presentations in order to learn more.

About 1/2 of the manual deals with a Tx-Rx NOT included and NOT available. This part of the manual presents excellent info and procedure. BUT, what good is it? I am excited about getting everything done and flown.

IF you are experienced with building foam models and getting electrics functioning, you are sure to enjoy building and flying this P-47. I have taken a variety of decals from my balsa kits (German "kills", bomb missions, fuel grade, etc) to dress it up a little. It's looking good, but the electric part has me slowed to a crawl.
