- Question ? 0 people found this helpfulHow does it compare to any of the TH Airfoil line planes ?
- Good value for money. 0 people found this helpfulWanted a foamy to practice 3D down low, that could fly in a park yet still deal with some wind. Precut slots for carbon made the build easy, it flies well, and is about 1/2 the cost of similar size from the premium foamy brand. I did find the notches in the firewall narrower than the carbon strips that were intended to fit there. Be sure to check this before you try to glue the firewall in. Also had to supply my own short extension for the speed control, and some 4-40 screws and nuts (motor mount to firewall). Would be nice if these were included.
- Good Products 0 people found this helpfulI ordered a flat foamy and they were very prompt with the shipping and I called with some questions and they were very helpful. This is a good business and they have quality products and are very helpful.
- Good Overall 0 people found this helpfulWent together nicely. Was missing a piece of 1x5 carbon. I had some 1.5x5 that I used. The gear is weak, but it wasn't really an issue. The plane flew with only a couple of clicks of aileron trim. Flight performance is smoother than I expected. Very happy overall. Would like a little more power. As is, it will just pull out of a hover. I would feel better if it had a little more vertical. Mine balanced perfectly with a 1300, 100C 3S from China Hobby Line. The rearward balance point is still quite safe. Running full throws (rudder throw reduced to not hit elevator) and 50% expo. This is a good setting, and flying in hi rates all the time.
- Flat Foamies BNF 0 people found this helpfulDo you sell any Flat Foamie that's BNF .Stupid question but im 67 years old and don't care to build .Done my share of Balsa back in the days.I just want to put the landing gear on and bind it and fly.
- nice looking foamy 1 people found this helpfulWent together easy the only thing I had to add a short ext cable from the esc to the receiver esc cable was short other wise all good
- Great product 2 people found this helpfulI maidened my Edge 540 this morning. It flew nicely in low rates and really wild in high rates. Lots of fun. I used a 1300 mAh battery but the plane was tail heavy so I added 1/2 oz. Now it's fine and fun to fly. My only complaint is the landing gear is weak.
- DW Hobby Edge 540 2 people found this helpfulThe Edge 540 foamy is easy to put together, the trailing edge is the only problem the alerions are very thin and had curled in places. I got most of the warpage out of Alerions by steam ironing them and adding short lengths of 1mm carbon fiber rods to the alerions. I had the Edge 540 trimmed out in three flights with 6 mph winds. Members of the flying club think it is a good flyer.
- Edge 540 Assembly 0 people found this helpfulFirst, Grayson Hobby is excellent! Shipped it fast and great communication. The assembly was a bit more than I expected, but overall not too bad. All pieces and parts were lazer cut and overall fit well. The only area that didn't fit good is where the flat carbon strips fit into the notches of the motor mount. The issues I had with this kit were.. 1. there was no pre-cut slit in the elevator for the control horn. 2. The rudder and elevator push rods bend. I replaced with a bit stronger ones. 3. You will need a short ESC extension to reach the receiver. 4. The 4 screws that hold the motor to the motor mount strip and will not tighten. They should have machine screws with nuts. The "Chinglish" instructions have a lot to be desired. Dry fit everything and go thru the entire instructions first before gluing anything. I used E600 glue. Haven't flown it yet, but I think it will be great!
