Still a great servo. I continue to use them without a problem. Well over 200 oz/in. of torque. I have not found any faults to date.

  3. Great product

I have been using these MG958 servos for years. These have proven to be reliable and very powerful. They have been used in several 4-stroke .90 models and .60 pylon racers. I have run them on 6 volts most of the time, without a problem. For the money, I find these servos one of the best buys on the market.

  11. Very good servo

I bought these servos because of the specs and low price. I’ve used them for over a year in two 20cc size aerobatic planes without any problems at all. They have plenty of Torque and speed at 4.8 volts. The MG 958 servo has proven to be a very good servo at any price, but for less than $9 you can’t beat this deal.

  18. Stress Test Summery
    Rating
Multiple test were conducted with 1 TowerPro MG958 servo, 3 position servo tester "user controlled, center & nonstop wiper mode" using 6.6v lifepo4 charged to 7.2v.

Stress test lasted 1hour lifting a 5.5lb weight in "nonstop wiper mode" at the furthest distance 1.25" from servo center with the supplied arm. The max weight that the servo would lift in wiper mode at that distance was roughly 13lb. After 2 minutes the servo started slowing down. I believe the servo tester couldn't supply the amp draw for the additional weight. Both pre & post stress test the servo centered fine "with and without the 5.5lb weight". The servo got hot to the touch during the stress test but never hot enough to burn.

My conclusion if you're ok with the servo speed then these will work well in any size Glow airplane up to 30cc full on 3D airplane. Large scale i.e. 1/3 Balsa USA kits & other non 3D they should also be fine. I wouldn't recommend these for any 50 to 150cc 3D airplanes. I think the control surfaces are too large for the servos to hold up. With all that being said I purposely tried to make the servo fail and it didn't

Have not open these servos up as of yet, probably will be late winter or early spring, past experience proves to be a good fast reliable servo.
